First Multi Bike Job Complete
It's always good to get the first job of the year out of the way - particularly as we were running completely new kit for the season. Also, it was a big event - the World Half Marathon Championships in Cardiff with all of the best runners in the world including our very own Mo Farah.
So, it was with some trepidation that we set off for the first event of the season on a clear March morning. The van was loaded with the two spanking new BMW C-Evolution silent TV tracking motos. Behind them, astride a new trailer for the season, sat two newly rigged ex-demo BMW R1200GS tracking motos - the perfect bikes for all jobs - particularly longer cycle events and Ironman length triathlons where high speed and longer ranges are necessary.
We arrived in good time for the test with RF provider Timeline. Meeting up with all the team, the tests around the 13.1 mile course went without hitch - albeit in fantastic weather. The test in pouring rain would wait until the closing minutes of the men's final!
However come the day of the race and despite the torrential downpour in the last miles, everything went perfectly with the bikes, RF kit and of course the crews performing flawlessy, the C-Evolutions were hailed by all to be a revolution in TV tracking vehicles and everyone was over the moon with coverage. First event out of the way. Phew!
